Calling all the ELLES!

In celebration of Elles: Women Artists from the Centre Pompidou, Paris, opening Oct. 11th at Seattle Art Museum, I thought what better time to share with you a remarkable and innovative woman jewelry designer.

One of my very favorite designers is Suzanne Belperron, a French aesthete who catered to some of the most influential style icons of the 20th century.

Suzanne worked privately and exclusively with friends and clients such as Diana Vreeland, the Duchess of Windsor, and the Rothschilds. Trained at the height of the deco era, her work was remarkably modern, innovative and tailored to her unique clients.

One of her most iconic pieces is the 'Yin et Yang' engagement ring which she created for herself when she wed in 1923. This piece beautifully illustrates her trailblazing vision of a woman's right to express her individuality and foster her own identity though jewelry.

Incidentally, she insisted on not signing her pieces saying, "My style is my signature."

I find that choosing to wear an antique piece makes a similar statement to individuality and personal expression as a Belperron piece does. There is nothing like finding and donning the perfect antique piece or engagement ring that is just simply and truly you.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces we have in store that I know are just waiting for you to fall in love with:

Choose to express your individuality & enjoy!
